This may sound off the track but it helps save money. A builder builds up price to add to overall cost, its true but you are going to spend that money anyways. How so? The builder can negotiate better prices than you ever will. If you prefer doing it yourself, then you can do your own shopping. If not, then leave it to the professionals.

Avoid Putting Lipstick on a Pig

This is a very important tip for people investing in remodeling. It’s no use teaching the pig to sing because he’ll be annoyed. So, it’s no use, plus there are lot of other things you can spend your money on, like saving up and buying another house. Think about it!

Never Work Without Contingency Fund

If you find that the remodeling project is going over budget, never eat your contingency. You  need a steady income stream that will support you even if you have exhausted your budget, so that you will at least get the job done.
